I see it more like, I smack the zombie with a golf club, and the one it bumps into should be slowed down at least. Even with with multi hit on, there is a limited amount of zombies you can hit at once with said weapon. Many weapons are limited to 2, some bigger one its 3 but rarely more unless modded. 2 isn't that much when you are facing a horde of 50zombies.
