Sackler, donated the necessary funding and 1,000 pieces of art from his private collection, to establish the Sackler Gallery. The governments of Japan and Korea also contributed to the construction of the gallery in order to share and promote art and culture. Films are shown in the 300-seat Meyer Auditorium. Preregistration (up to four tickets per person per film) is encouraged but not required. Seating is available on a first–come, first served basis for patrons without tickets.
