They say the transmission needs to be rebuilt because the TORQUE CONVERTER is bad which is burning the oil (brown) and causing the grinding noise when accelerating. 2020 Accord Sport - noise when accelerating. I recently got a used 2020 honda accord sport 1.5T with about 45k miles. I noticed that the acceleration is really loud while on first gear but once I pass it, the noise basically disappears. It’s a bit louder when on sport mode and a bit quieter (but not much) on eco mode.

The sound is loudest around the front passenger area. Someone recorded a video with the same exact sound that I'm hearing. They never posted about whether they found what was wrong or not.

The Mechanic showed me a Technical Service Bulletin regarding "whining" A/T for 03 Elements, 99 - 04 Odysseys, and 03-04 PILOTS.
