I tow 7500 regularly with 35" and a level lift. Tows great and no discernable loss in power from the stock 32.5" BFGs. No need to regear at all. However, I was running Timbrens (just switched to airbags) to combat squat.You do not need gears. 4.88 with 35s means a shorter final drive ratio than stock. 4.88 with 37s means a longer final drive ration than stock. Its really just personal preference. You shouldnt consider gears unless you are considering 37" tires. I believe that you will get better mpg with 35s and stock gears vs 35s and 4.88.
