Bow is the strongest weapon in the game right now. Hard to say really, though my money is on LBG. Rise is the best MH game at easing new players into the series imo. I feel like Defender gear kinda ruins all the great work Capcom put into balancing the base game. ... My understanding is that Sticky isn't recommended because the nerfs made it not stand up by itself, but there are builds that mix Sticky and other ammo types. However, it's considered kinda niche/personal option. (Sunbreak balance changes also apply to base Rise on consoles & Windows store releases.)

I'd argue that the comfort and mobility of LBG makes up for the small damage difference between the two, especially in singleplayer hunts.With how fast late game monsters are and some with insane range and AOE, LBG is better at evading and repositioning so it's easier to use. HBG has an option to equip a shield tho. With guard 5, tune up 1, Embolden 3 and some lvls of guard up as needed, HBG can tank majority of monster attacks.
