Kubo has also stated that most of the Espada were Vasto Lorde. So that would mean at least 6 had to be one. So I would say Nnoitra and Grimmjow, while Zommari and Szayel were Adjuchas.Not only that, he was hardly trying, it was mostly about destroying Ulquiorra in the most humiliating way possible. In the anime this is especially true; we see him mock Ulquiorra's speed by repeating the head grab he did against Ichigo, mock his strength by grabbing his weapon, mock his perception by getting by Ulquiorra and by distracting him ...

Ulquiorra had more power than a normal Adjuchas, but he didn't have as much power as a Vasto Lorde. He didn't seem to need to constantly eat to keep himself from turning back to a Gillian. Which is what most Adjuchas had to go through and only Vasto Lorde didn't have to go through that.
