I can't remember if it was on this forum or another that gave me the idea, but another solution for the infamous magazine drop problem was the replace the M9 magazine release spring with a 1911 mag release spring. The 1911 spring is the same diameter, much more tension and longer than the M9's.Pull the trigger a bunch of times. Pull the hammer back and lower it (don't "shoot" the gun and let the hammer drop on the frame without the slide installed). Also work the safety back and forth as you hose it down. Be VERY careful to only move the safety lever through it's NORMAL range of motion.
