Forum Newbie. I have a Honda HRX217 self-propelled mower that is not self-propelling. My first thought was to adjust the cable, as the resistance had gotten a bit slack, so I tightened it and it felt better, but still did not move much. It would pull itself along on flat ground, but had no power.

The mowers appear very similar except for the transmission. My old model (a 3 speed) was almost faster than a comfortable walk in top gear. The new mower seems slower in the fastest setting on the cruise control.
