The SIG M11-A1-D is one fine firearm and fits in nicely with my other SIGs, P239 and P226. I added a Crimson Trace Laser grip and had trigger work completed. My gunsmith reduced the first pull to 7 lbs. to match my other SIGs. As of today, I have shot around 200 rounds with zero malfunctions. I will be using the M11-A1 as my EDC piece. I just bought a new M11A1 and when getting it home, I noticed that it had P229 grips instead of P228 grips (which is what it's supposed to have). Yes, the gun is "more" P229 than P228, but the whole point is that this is supposed to be "true-er" to the military M11. And that means P228 grips. Jun 19, 2013 · Finally took my M11-A1 to the range today and put 115 rounds through her. Was plagued, and I mean plagued, by FTE leading to some pretty ******** failures. Counted six before I said to hell with it and packed the gun up. The best one I had was after dropping the mag, I had to cycle the slide four, I say again, four times before the casing ejected.

It seems like the only place that may be a problem is the slide lock/release on the M11-A1. If that is a problem I'd imagine some gentle dremel tool action would remedy it. I do prefer OWB in either a Don Hume H721 pancake (P229SAS) or a Bianchi Mod.83 PaddleLok (P229 SAS or P227 SAS). The Don Hume was made for theP228/229 so the P227 won't fit with the squared trigger guard. There's something about the feel of the cool aluminum that just feels great. I've handled some P229's with G10's and those felt good too.So 2.5 oz lighter than what SIG says with an empty magazine.
